A very hot topic today is gay marriage today. As of April 2013 nine states have legalized gay marriage: Connecticut, Maryland, Maine, Iowa, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Vermont, and Washington. Yet, 30 states prohibit gay marriage. The church does not view homosexuality itself as wrong. It only considers acting on gay impulses as a sin. The main reason the Church is against gay marriage is because marriage is a covenant between man, woman, and God. The Church believes that marriage between two people of the same sex is not a marriage at all and devalues the importance of the covenant of marriage. Although the Church views gay marriage as wrong it is still up to each of us to decide our own views.
